This should not have been allowed on public roads so blithely. The promise of "self driving cars by 2020" was wildly unrealistic and tech companies leverage it against governments saying that they cant achieve it (even though they know its impossible to do so quickly) without putting the public at risk. Now a woman has been killed for jaywalking. Ogie is OK with that, apparently, but the vast majority of people aren't. This was entirely preventable.

It will be interesting to see the footage of it. These car are equipped with a rediclous amount of surveylance.

Did the car have an operator? Was it reasonable for them to have applied the brakes? Did the car at least scam a customer out of 5 dollars when leaving the scene. These are the impoetnat questions.

driving every day along side the human populous makes me feel like this isn't really all that bad. 16 pedestrians are killed a day by human drivers in the US. roads full of robot drivers just have to only kill 15 a day and its already better.

These cars are babysat to an extreme degree to prevent exactly this from happening. If you had a self driving car that was as puritanical about speed limits and inane traffic code you'd seize the controls yourself after getting fed up with its bullshit.
