I think duckface was more of "regular" girls not understanding how the technique is used by celebrities to appear gaunt in close-up, wide angle shots of the type produced by cell phone cameras. This face is, I think, dudes wanting to appear manic in their excitement at mundane things (Cookie Crisps? Are you insane?), because smiling isn't good enough anymore, I suppose. Maybe it has roots in MANY of these guys getting their entertainment from otherwise uninteresting and untalented YouTubers/streamers who have no choice but to over-exaggerate their reaction to EVERYTHING on camera. |
