The US entered World War I 101 years ago today. The first of two times those uppity Krauts needed to be taught a lesson.

Germany in WW1 were the good guys. We picked the wrong side.

If you haven't read about the Christmas armistice in WWI where they came out of the trenches and partied for a while, that's pretty amazing. If we had an all board meetup it probably wouldn't be as peaceful as that.

Yeah it was because they type of war it was. Was still seen as a war of kings and not of ideologies.

Yep. One of the most amazing stories in a modern war setting.

They were not so amicable to each after Verdun and the Somme. Casualty figures at Aisne, Marne and Mons were pretty insignificant compared to what was coming.

You can tell that it won't be long before they arm themselves once again. A large segment of their population is clearly growing weary of flagellating themselves for the Holocaust.

We actually did, Turns out the Zimmerman telegram was a hoax/fake news perpetrated by the Brits.

I been on a WW1 reading binge. The start and Armistice really interests me. If the Brits would have sat out by even a week the whole thing would have been different. Turns out they only got involved because the First Sea Lord mobilized the fleet without permission. First Sea Lord at the time, yup Churchill. Biggest war monger since Napoleon.
