We had our basement finished and I need ideas for furnishing it. It's pretty small & narrow sections and don't think a pool table will fit. We have foosball and are thinking air hockey or ping pong. Not sure what air hockey tables are good so recs there would be great. There is a tv/video game area, darts, and hockey net. Need ideas for a 13 year old and 10 year old. TIA

That would be awesome but last I checked PBkids wanted about 6300 for one. If you could point me in the direction of one that was about 5300 less that would fantastic. :drunken:

Good luck. After a year, my basement is still just piles of furniture and electronics with no home. One weekend a month, I move everything around and then decide I don't like it.

Does the basement have electricity?

Stick your finger in one of the sockets.

You could try building your own skeeball alley. I tried that once when I was a kid but the whole process sort of unraveled when I realized I had no carpentry skills.

I’d prefer ski ball or ping pong but my father in law shipped out 2 pinball machines, a table arcade system and a bowling game. I’m stunned that myv9 year old loves the bowling.

If I propose marriage you think your father in law will send that stuff to me?

Funny you mention that. I kinda want one, but not for the basement. That's where the kids will hang out, I want them at my house to prevent sex.

Looks like it would lack accuracy.

How about a gigolo sex machine? They are back ordered and expensive though.

All joking aside, congrats on your finished basement, Spaulding. That's awesome and exciting for the kids.

My sister has pop-a-shot and a ping pong table in hers. But they fold up the ping pong table when not in use to save space for parties.

You could also get one of those arcade machines with the 300 cool games from the 80s and 90s.

Our ceilings are low. I'd love one of those tabletop atari things. I could waste my time with that instead of on here! Gotta get the high score!

The table top game is fun but I need lower seats. It remains nds me of my parents giving my brother and I a couple quarters a peace to give them some peace and quiet at the pizza place. Galaga is a lot tougher than I remember.

How high is your ceiling?

Maybe 6.5' It's a crappy drop ceiling. Mr Spaulding is 6' and has some clearance. I think our 6'4" relatives can stand up straight.

It's not for adults and I don't care if kids have to duck. I just want to make it a good place for his friends to hang out. I'd like to know his friends and know what's going on. It's standard 8ft ceilings in the rest of our old house.

Ok. That's pretty low. That limits some options.

But it doesn't prevent you from putting up a Huge poster of Da Ma Na. How about that idea, Spauldo? The kids would love it and so would guests.

Add a water alarm to your sump basin if you're finishing your basement.
It's a worthwhile investment.
Believe me. Trust darko.

We haven't had any flooding issues (knock on wood). Have 2 pumps and the crawl space will flood before the basement and we have polished concrete in the basement. We're okay.

Cool. Dont listen to me. I love it when I warn clients of stuff and they say it never happens and when it happens I smile a bit inside. Just like when I tell people what broke and they dont believe it because well that never broke before. Therefore it can never break.
