Careful. You will be accused of having a grudge and will get all sorts of clever digs on Wu Tang thrown your way.

I don't take offense to not being as cool as Kevin Bacon.

we had a neighbor who tried to grow grass in his front yard for 6 years. he was a ball collector. he's run out there and grab it as fast as he could and take it into the garage. finally a few dads went over there one day when the garage door was open and grabbed a trashcan full of all our balls and dumped them into the street for us. He came out shouting, they told him to call the police. he didn't and didn't collect another ball again. it was one of the greatest days of my life.

Not at all surprised that the greatest day of your life involved balls and a trash can.

Who is the growing grass tidbit relevant to the rest of the story?

Last time the cicadas came out we had a neighbor that tried to blame the neighborhood kids for putting holes in her yard. She'd sit on her front porch to scowl at them when they rode thier bikes. It was the only time she came out of her house.

We had a similar guy down the block when we were a kid. The guy ended up snapping and putting three bullets in some kid's head when he tried to retrieve a ball.

because he put up like no walking signs and stay off the yard signs. we assumed that he was trying to deter us from hitting balls into his yard and by golly we tried but he was in a bad corner.

my dad thinks some neighbors were purposefully killing his yard because he was a douchebag.

jesus.

to be fair, this guy had lived in that house longer than anyone else. there were at least 10 families full of kids surrounding him.

If only that kid had a gun, he'd still be alive today.
