Two weeks ago, prices from our steel supplier were half what they are charging us now. Reason is tariffs, and yes while they increased the price 25%, the uncertainty is what pegged our price to double

Also, if anyone noticed, the prices across the board at McMasterCarr have risen at least 20%.. for nearly everything they sell!

Go trump. To hell.

I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll be making more money than you ever imagined very soon, believe me ... everybody's saying you'll be making so much money you won't know what to do with it - all thanks to the tariffs.

Bullshit. Our "allies" were taking advantage on the US and Trump called them on it. Production of US steel is forthcoming and Canada and Mexico will cave. They have to cave and will.

So Trump decided to level the playing field for steel and aluminum to fuck black people? Perhaps the black people who were employed in the American steel and aluminum industry in the years before Trump and were thrown off of their jobs by south American, British, Chinese, Japanese, etc. should have not voted for the idiot environmental idiots that they did who were responsible for killing the steel and aluminum industry in this country.

Fortunately the weakness of the black voter in this country is changing around and they are regaining consciousness to understand how bad liberals are for them.

Ever check out this Joy Reid "person"? Right now she wants to be considered the champion of gay rights, racial justice, etc., but just a few years ago Ms. "Joy" was attacking jews, gays, even other minorities, etc. Also........I've got to ask......if Joy really a man? Take a look at this "person". I don't really know if I would place a good left cross to her jaw that it would take her out? She also has a lot of pretty impressive upper body stuff going on. Just saying.

It’s an entire trickle down fuckaree. The mills will increase prices and so it will become cheaper to bring in fabricated items from overseas. Hell foreign mills used to send in a plate with a corner burned off and claimed it was a fab part to get around even lower tariffs. Then they just flipped it as regular stock. They will find ways around this too.

This only works if Americans are willing to pay more for goods.

Trade wars are bad for all parties involved. It's quite clear from his comments that we have a President who doesn't understand basic macroeconomic concepts such as the mechanisms of a trade deficit. Given the fact econ was my field of study, it's especially infuriating to watch as he tries to stoke a trade war.

The jobs he is trying to save are not coming back, nor should they. We buy foreign steel not only because it is cheaper, but because us producing it would be inefficient, especially when we have a labor market with too few people to fill the jobs we currently have. What is the point of bringing back manufacturing if the factories cannot find workers and we are putting in place immigration policies to limit the growth of a future labor pool?

Disagree. US Steel announced just recently that it was revitalizing its operations and the kind of workers needed to be hired in this industry is not the illegals coming in via our southern neighbors. Trump is addressing a subject that few presidents had the balls to address namely the way foreign countries do not allow fair trade into their countries via enormous trade barriers. As the by far largest consumer of goods and services in the world, the US holds the upper hand and will use it to get fair entry of its products into China, Japan, et al at long last.
