How long have you been at the current location and why does it suck?

3 years. owner is insane, but great if you avoid him when he walks your way. he hired a young management staff that had papers that claimed they went to college or some shit. theyre fuckin idiots and driving the company under. retarded policies and bully management style. CFO just quit too, citing quietly to some coworkers theres no money and no sales, this place probably wont last much longer.

You posted that out of the blue, they wanted you guys to start documenting what exactly you did throughout the work day. I remember telling you that they were looking to fire one of you guys and eventually they did... Correct me if I'm wrong but one of the three of you were indeed let go?

I knew this because they did the same thing to us about ten years ago and it took a couple of months but heads eventually rolled.

i'm in a weird situation at work i need your advice on. i'm doing blue collar work after decades of white collar office jobs and then owning my own business. long story short, the guy who owns the business has always liked me and has got to know my past work in the white collar industry. so recently he has asked me to help him in finance. word got around any my blue collar co workers are pretty pissed and jealous. the guy who does finance now for the business the boss hates. so he's asking that guy to train me in what he does. I know what is going to happen. once he deems i'm ready, the boss is going to fire the guy who's training me and i'll be taking over his job.

My son is a millennial and he does the whole 2 year thing. He thinks people who stay at the same place more than 5 years are crazy. How is it these days?

I don't understand those who don't in these type of cases. I've worked with a lot of sleaze bags in my life and even if they don't have any work relation with someone who's leaving for a better place, they use to get all riled up and hateful at the person.

never understood this. if they used that hateful energy to do their jobs maybe they'd be in a better place.

companies refuse to give significant raises anymore, so people find other companies willing to pay them more. in fact it is well documented the fastest way to make more money in this economy is to find a different place to work for. switch every 2-3 years to get the biggest raises.

it really comes down to management being dumb and thinking everyone is the same, so the cheaper the better.

ahhhhh....makes sense. that really sucks companies dont give big pay raises anymore. I would guess in sales that may be would be different but I guess it depends where you work.
