I keep seeing commercials about this product. then the other day guy at work had one and asked me to try it when I told him i was too tired to bike home from work. i didnt try it but this stuff legit? what are the side effects? is it FDA approved? sounds like something a snake oil salesmen would sell. |

it works as advertised, at least for me. If I'm driving home late at night and am feeling tired I will drink 1/2 of a bottle. I feel more alert and don't worry about falling asleep behind the wheel. I don't feel jittery, have a sugar crash afterward, or have trouble falling asleep. I rarely drink a full bottle so I may feel differently if I did, but 1/2 usually does the trick for me. |

I have been using it for several years and aside from developing lustrous salt and pepper hair, a charming personality, and chromesthesia (I can hear colors), I have not noticed any side effects. I have tried other products such as Red Bull, Monster, or XS that made me feel very jittery or just kind of sick, but I have not experienced that with 5 Hour Energy if you go to their website or Google it, I'm sure you can find a complete list of ingredients. |

It’s a rip off for the price. Buy a Double Gulp instead and the incessant need to pee will keep you awake just fine. |

I would think you can buy like 1000 no-doze on Amazon for way less. |

its main active ingredient is caffeine. its the same thing as one caffeine pill for $5. you can get 300 caffeine pills for $4 at walmart. but of course, tell people who drink it that all they need is a caffeine pill and they freak out saying they dont do drugs. |

As somebody who has had heart issues with rapid heartrate (SVT), I have never partaken of the product, or Red Bull, Monster, etc. I took caffeine pills a couple of times in graduate school, but mostly just bought cans of Jolt. These days I just drink espresso. A double at 3pm usually keeps me going and fades before bedtime. |
