ok another one. Just like the woman who called police on the black girl because she didnt have a 'permit' (#permitpatty). this one the guy is shaking literally. I know it's a serious topic but it's hard not to laugh at how scared this guy is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJymOG20ZPM |

CVS fired him and another person for this incident. Not surprised that he was a Trump supporter that was running for alderman. |

It's sad that the Trib headline had to be "CVS apologizes after white manager in Chicago calls cops on black customer" when nothing in the story suggested it was a racial incident. But that's what society has become...I'll bet the headline got more clicks than any other story. |

Besides, let's be honest, if this was an old white lady that wanted to buy some Depends on a coupon, police would never have been called. |

"Coupon Bill" sounds like a moniker of a Score caller who loves the Sox, but hates Reinsdorf and the Cubs. |

Maybe Pittmike can come along to tell us how statements such as this are great because they help facilitate "normal" conversations on here. |

"In saying it’s fraudulent and it looks handwritten, which it didn’t to me, he [the manager assisting Matson] was essentially calling me a liar, a thief, a forger," Hudson told ABC News. " |

The abc story says it is or isn’t fake? Sounds like it wasn’t but looked fake? |

Nobody is really saying if it was fake or not. |

Log Cabin Republican? He should have said she called him an anti-gay slur, and this whole thing would have been a wash. If someone is trying to use a fake coupon and refusing to leave the store what should the manager have done? Also- it was a fake coupon for adult diapers. This lady truly has no shame. |

Why would someone make a fake coupon for some adult diapers? She went to the self check out line to be discreet about it, and now everyone in the world is aware of her incontinence. You think she wanted all of this just to save a few dollars? |

If the manager was fired then apparently he did something wrong. Wrongful termination would be just as damaging to the corporation as racial profiling of the customer. |

Probably more scared of protests and a negative news cycle. This was a swift termination. No dog and pony styled investigation in order to make it appear as though they are providing due process for the emoloyee. He was canned immediately which suggests that they had just cause. Strongly implies that the coupon probably was legit. She says that it wasn't scanned. It could not have been that difficult to find out if it was or wasn't authentic. If he dismissed it out of hand and refused to check once the request was made then that would be cause for termination. Calling the police didn't help either. |

He's also a dime a dozen middle manager in an era where even the hint of white on black racism is toxic, and in a city where a highway was recently shutdown by protests. I can't say for certain what happened, but I would guess this is the case. The guy was shaking as he made the call. So I don't think he was the confrontation type. |

The manufacturer likely produces private label diapers for different stores in different markets, so they have this universal coupon, that gets stamped with the store name that it is packaged for. It sounds like she tried to scan it. I don't think this is an elaborate scam. |
