Terrible tragedy, but you have to ask yourself, are we ready to sit down as a nation and have a reasonable tour bout control discussion? |

It's too soon to talk about about possible duck boat legislature. |

if you are on a commercial boat you need to wear a life vest at all times.. except cruise liners because those are unsinkable |

But there is also a warning out there from after the Arkansas deal in 1999 that says the canopy on them is the problem and if you wearing a life vest it causes you to rise to the top and can pin you against the canopy not allowing you to get out. Will prob lead to the end of such boat tours, or at the least a complete redesign of them. |

Well, we all know that boat company is finished, and probably rightfully so, but at what point do you, as a prospective passenger, in the year 2018, not know that there are severe thunderstorms in the area, and say to yourself “Um, I think I’ll take a pass, and maybe even find some shelter”? |

I think it was owned by Ripley’s. I don’t understand how that many people died. It’s like something out of a third world country that has zero safety standards. |

But there are a lot of variables at play. There was a severe thunderstorm warning issued 30 mins prior to the event. I am not certain on the length of the ride but it goes on both land and water, so it is quite possible that the ride had already started before the warnings were issued. I would think the bigger issue is that the company once a severe thunderstorm warning is given should immediately bring in all boats. |

They run duck tours here but the river is a pretty tame trip like the Dells. That is a big lake where weather can be a huge factor. Someone messed up bad. |

I've been on the Ducks at the Dells a few times and had to wear a life jacket. That's some gross negligence to send them out in that weather and with no life jackets. |

There are going to be big calls for more taxes and restrictions on alcohol from the medical community soon. We should probably just ban that as well. |
