What's your take on an employee at a store or a restaurant calling you anything other than sir? Does it bother you to be called "boss," "chief," "buddy," "pal" or anything similar? |

Douchebag wrote: This thread is Tee'ed up for the KapMan mult. Hey there Sparkles, thanks for the call. You know, I love the people, and the people love me. Whether it's sparkles, or sunshine, or chief, or champ, or Elmhurst Steve, I like to make the people happy. Give them a pep in their step as it were. So if it makes a Douchebag here get a smile on his face if I call him Twinkletoes, or Sweetcheeks, well then my day is complete. For your troubles let's hook you up. I'll get Mindy to get you a Lou's gift card, and I think we have some Garrett's Popcorn prize packs in back...maybe get you a MyPillow 2.0, too. And with Valentine's Day coming, we'll get you a PajamaGram for the special lady in your life. Back to the phones. |

Did you hear the bank on the corner is offering a hundred dollars if you go in there and they don't greet you with a hello?

That's the kind of thing that used to bother me but I've been working on not getting upset at small things. |

I would have gone through life never thinking someone could actually have a problem with one of these forms of address. Does snowflake work? |

I forget the sexual harassment terms older women use for younger men: sugar, hon, sweetie, etc. |

Normally I don't really care, but I hate when employees use a term like "honey" to diffuse a situation where something is wrong. Awhile back I was ordering something at fast food place and they got my order wrong. I got the ladys attention to notify her and she gave me some attitude as if I had ordered incorrectly and referred to me as "honey". I just about went Jim Cornette at DQ on her ass. |

If a man starts calling a female customer by the same words he's probably not going to last long in that job. |

As much as I like the idea, it's harder to enforce the behavior of one's customers than that of one's employees. But yeah, I don't want to be sitting in Everest next to some asshole wearing a Cubs cap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqp1bGuiHHs |
