last night around 11:30 went to bed and started hearing some noises in the bedroom. Saw a rat. Grabbed my trusty bedside wooden Sherwood hockey stick and after about a 20 minute fight I finally killed the rat. Tweaked my hamstring in the process and also lost my voice from screaming like a little girl every time I would take a swing at it.

Packed up our shit and checked into a Hawthorne Suites off Old Orchard.

Been planning to move to the suburbs, but have been taking my time with that. not anymore, gonna put my place on the market yesterday.

Get a tom cat or a rat terrier. Problem solved.

Get an exterminator in there quick. The entry point needs to be identified and sealed or you could be in store for a much bigger problem.

Yeah, my uncle had a rat in his house once, and it turned out they had been nesting in the walls. Exterminator said if you find one in your house, there are probably already dozens of them in the walls. It is too late at that point to be completely without them.

You've been there for a long time. You're probably going to make some money. I figured you would have bolted when you got married.

Maybe it’s not a rat. Maybe it’s a filigree Siberian hamster.

Did you know that a single rat produces over a quart of urine annually?
Try getting that fact out of your mind.
Have a nice day!

Unlike you, most of us don't have access to dozens of secret family recipes for cooking with rat, so we don't see or handle them very much

You will have to disclose this condition when you sell the house.

Here's one of my favorite bigfan stories. I don't think he posted it on the board, I think he told me when we were out drinking. Anyway, he was building a house near Wrigley Field, maybe on Clifton or Sheffield. When they were doing the teardown or digging the new foundation rats came pouring out from everywhere. One of the neighbor ladies confronted bigfan and asked what he was going to do about it. He said, "I'm sorry, lady. They're not my rats."

There are so many lawyer jokes to make here that none of them seem to be able to meet the high expectations. Maybe someone funnier than me like Telegram Sam, Dr. Ken, or Eaglo Jeff can do it.

Even a few will cause irreparable damage to the insulation, drywall, and sometimes even the framing if there is enough urine and feces. It becomes a health hazard.

Shakes, I'll just save you the trouble of filing a claim and let you know your insurance doesn't cover rodent damage.

A rat?!? Ugh. I had mice a few months ago and almost burned the fuckin place down. If I saw a rat I'd grab my My Pillow and the golf clubs and never look back. Fuck that shit.

we had a critter in our attic that would wake us up in the middle of the night. I bought 3 of the pest defender ultrasonic things and haven't heard a peep since we plugged them in.

Rat and small field mouse?

The last 2 houses in the distant Lake County burbs I've moved into had small mice welcoming me. Pretty easy to get rid of, but cannot speak for RATS....Did this rat lift weights like the the Ozzie Guillen described Wrigley Field rats?

great, just talked to a very honest exterminator who told me that basically there's nothing I can do except hope it was a one time occurrence. Said once you're dealing with rats in a house it can be literally anything in terms of how they got in. Said it could take weeks or even months for an exterminator to figure out and fix the problem. Best bet is that it snuck in under the gap in the door as opposed to coming in through the walls.

So basically I just have to live in a house that may or may not be infested with rats.

Now if you excuse me I'm going to kill myself.

When I had my speaker company I used to sell those guys and companies like them all the tweeters that went in those devices. It's a small piezoelectric speaker that was made by Motorola and later CTS. The part number was KSN-1020. I'm sure they probably use cheap Chinese knockoffs these days.

I just looked it up:

Amazon sells these things for $15.00???   I used to buy them in cases of 720 and I'm sure they cost less than a buck each. And that was for American made stuff. I'm sure the one Amazon has is Chinese.
