As someone with twins... You don’t have the energy to go out to the club let alone set up for a DP with two strangers. She was probably nominally the mother. I’m sure the grandmother was doin the heavy lifting. Sucks for the kids.

I was originally echoing the point someone else made our social failings with respect to single motherhood and how we have subsidized it. I know why it is sore spot for some people. I was once on the left. And I certainly expect no counter debate. That's why I rarely post when I even think to visit.

It is worth pointing out on the day after MLK JR day, that Reverend King basically said the same thing when the US was debating doubling down on welfare. A system that was never supposed to be permanent. A system that black leaders knew would devastate the black community, and has now begun to devastate all but the Asian American community. He was right. They were right. The few lone Democrats who tried to raise the concerns using good research had their careers ruined by other Democrats.

Like so many of our best intentions that become legislation, we can never roll them back even when the evidence is clear that they have become an impedance.

And because the left has weaponized speech, saying that anyone in this country can succeed as long as they do three simple things (graduating high school, getting a job, avoiding having children before you are in a solid life partnership) you will be met with all manner of excuses in order to defend the failings of others, and the dogma of the left.

Using phrases like 'the left has weaponized speech' doesn't really allow for any productive dialogue.

You want to demonstrate how unreasonable you think the left / Democrats / progressives are? Maybe stay away from overarching, bombastic, inflammatory statements.
