Let me explain myself. You said your house is at 50 and your heat isn't working. HVAC people are working really long hours and are likely having to turn people down if they have too much on their plate. The cold is going to last at least until tomorrow. It will let up this weekend but it's going to be cold again next week though hopefully not this bad. It could be an easy fix for them but I wouldn't mess with trying to fix a heater unless you really knew what you were doing and it is clear that you don't. I wouldn't know either so it wasn't a shot at you.

Even if they can't come until tomorrow I don't think you will get a solid answer on it until a professional checks it out.

Am I mistaken? Aren't you both members of the same collegiate tribe? Don't you have a secret handshake or something to smooth this over? I'm kinda bigfans of both posters. This has always been an odd spat to me.
