I think people who live together are just trying to find something to call the other person who sleeps in their bedroom something else since they aren't married. In other words "sex" partner.

I've had many business partners, but I've never referred to a wife or girlfriend as a "partner".

When I was about 20, I was talking to a guy over the phone who kept referring to his "domestic partner". I had to give the call to my supervisor, who informed me what domestic partner meant. :oops: :lol:

What's right up there with partner is people who call their live-in girlfriend or boyfriend their fiancee or fiance and they've been "engaged" for years.
