Quote: Melin Jones never knew an innocent cake mix-up would take the internet by storm — but here we are and we can't stop laughing.
The Missouri mom picked up a pre-made cake on display at the her local Walmart, Jones told USA TODAY. She asked the worker behind the counter for what she thought was "pretty simple request:" Write "Happy Birthday Lizard" on top. What ensued was a big miscommunication, shock and then hilarity. Jones was getting the cake to celebrate the second birthday of her daughter Elizabeth — who she's lovingly called "Lizard" since she was pregnant. "She handed it back and I didn't check it," the 27-year-old mom shared. "I didn't think to check it. We were in a hurry." "It’s still pretty crazy to me," she said. "Sometimes when funny things happen, you wonder if its funny to anyone else, but apparently it is funny to a lot of other people, which blows my mind." For the record, Jones went back to the Walmart and bought her daughter a new cake, this time asking for "Happy Birthday Elizabeth." This year, when Elizabeth turns 3 in September, mom said she plans to check the cake before leaving the store. "The pressure is on this year," she joked. |

So chill. Laugh , it’s funny .

Prior to Walmart making their way up here in the late 80s early 90s, we would frequent a Walmart around the Ozarks. At that time it was more like a Farm and Fleet. |

First time I saw one near Milwaukee, there were Made in the USA banners and flags on every rafter and crap packed aisle. |

Bought two of those while on vacation. It exceeded the Nothing Bundt Cake version that has always been the gold standard cake for me. |

Yeah dude firstbwalmart I ever saw was in Charleston when dropping my sister off for university. It was crazy. Maybe I'm misremembering but I thought I recall their big claim to fame being they only had stuff made in America? |

Who doesn't like crap packed aisles? Search that crap. Make decisions on that crap. Bring that crap home. Let that crap sit there for a year. Hell Yeah! |

Nah mate it was right bj across the main drag from Wilb walkers. Maybe 5 blocks from pemberton. Huh. I just remember day one or two being in some big store buying who knows what and getting the "it's not pronouced Muh-TOON" speech from the cashier ... wonder what the heck store it could've been? What year was the RW dropoff? (edit: I felt a need to "drive" west on Lincoln w/ Google Maps and there's a Walmart Supercenter about where I was thinking out past the airport & Lincoln Health ... not that that means anything necessarily ... we're both talking about 100 years ago almost so a contemporary map doesn't count much for evidence) |
