Unfortunately, it's no surprise as to which part of the city is in a steep decline.

Yeah, it's a drag, the south side shouldn't be beyond redemption. So much of the housing stock is still really good!

When your vote can be taken for granted, anything else is moot.

The bungalow I grew up in never struck me as super easy to update to the giant homes people want these days. Usually they are maxed out with a dormered attic.

Cant that basically be said about all 7 places?

There has been a Republican alderman I believe on the NW side over the last 10 years or so.

And the wealthier neighborhoods get something for their money at least. Better schools and a higher police presence in the area around downtown for sure.

Crossing your fingers, closing your eyes real tight and voting Democratic may finally work.

But we both know that it won't.

My neighborhood has two magnet grammar schools, an IB/magnet high school, two marinas and two golf courses. And stability. 2 minutes from the lake, 15 from downtown.

Repugnant party what?
Care to say the same about your new neighborhood?

:D

Congratulations.

I'm sure that warms the hearts of the folks in Englewood. :(

Deflect all you want to. Englewood is about as relevant to me as Rolling Meadows is to you my friend.

We get it.

You got yours.

Like I said. Congrats.

But your neighborhood isn't referenced in the article as getting the short end of the stick.

Perhaps, but I got a half dozen plus kids from around there that I helped focus on college. And who I love like they're my kids. Then make the neighborhood better.

That is a great story. Make your own little piece of Earth a better place for many.

People treat "north side" as if it is some homogenous area

The article doesn't do that at all.

It simply states that the north side is home to the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city.
