Unless you want to try and get a ton of airline miles to try and get upgrades to first class on planes then find the card with the highest cash back with no annual fee that you qualify for. As long as you pay off the complete balance every month those give you the best return. If you don't plan to pay off your full balance every month then don't get a credit card. |

I’ve never missed a full payment. So you’d recommend the Blue Cash card? |

Blue Cash is good if you have kids and buy a lot of groceries at traditional grocery stores instead of Costco and Walmart. But I like the Citi DoubleCash better. 2% cash back on everything. |

Then I had to keep track of everything and was always annoyed the wife couldn't remember the right cards.... Then I found the citi doublecash, used it as the only card ever since. 0 fees, and pays a legit 2%. |

American Express and my ex wife were a funny story. She would just not ever even think about the gas car or visa. Charge charge charge. So I was like okay we aren’t going to keep digging this hole. I gave her an AMEX from my account and things would work out because you paid it off every month. Nope. Burnt through cash to pay that like you can’t imagine. Anyway, guys looked at me funny when I said I am so happy to pay alimony. They didn’t get that I finally after 20 plus years had a fixed cost to budget. |

I still put things across a couple of cards for various travel-related reasons because I get more than 2% return, but if I wasn't traveling for work I'd use the Doublecash exclusively. I know a few guys who are still churning credit cards and checking accouts quarterly, like the little old Bohemian ladies in South Cicero who would open savings accounts up and down Cermak in the 1950s to get free toasters and blenders. It was easier 10 years ago when the credit inquiry systems weren't as sophisticated and you could apply for 7 credit cards on one day and none of the inquiries would see the other ones. Then it was just one snowy Sunday morning a year before a Bears game and you'd make enough to pay for a nice vacation. |

He buys all of his customized implants for each patient with a credit card as the supplier wants to get paid before starting to make the item, and then bills the patient with a mark-up. A couple of million a year of throughput, easy. Lots of nice vacations, especially when you can mix it across cards to maximize float and have 6-figure account balances with Delta, American (they fly Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong), and Marriott. |
