Is there anything more hollow than someone just posting "thoughts and prayers" or "praying" or whatever to a social media platform? Even worse, is there anything more attention seeking than vaguely asking for "prayers" on a social media platform? |

My prayers are answered every time the Culligan man fixes the leak in the water cooler. |

Seacrest and I don't agree on much, but when my kid was sick, he texted me just about every day with thoughts and prayers. RR did as well. I was personally thankful for them and MANY others. It all means a lot when you have been brought to your knees. |

What about people that post some comment along the line of "prayers" or "praying" whenever they see some stupid news story about a minor fender bender or some other such shit? |

Those are definitely mostly hollow. People think they have to say something. |

Nas wrote: Those are definitely mostly hollow. People think they have to say something. That's just it. A few weeks ago, there was a decent sized accident on the Tri State around 137, which happened around 3 in the afternoon, and that's on my route home. That particular day, I had someplace to be at a certain time, which I had to take that way to make it. There is a Lake County news facebook page I follow that had the story, and as I read it, there was a note that there were no injuries. So, I made a simple post of "I hope it's cleared up for rush hour"...mostly to make sure I got alerts for any further updates in the thread. You would have thought I wished death on all involved based on the reaction of the "thoughts and prayers" brigade. They really didn't like it when I called them out on their hollow attention whoring...and references to them being SAHM's sitting around drinking wine all afternoon while watching the Real Housewives. |

I agree with you Boyd, most people need to heed to Luke 18:1-8. That is how I do it. I may not respond to ever request or post that needs a prayer but it does not mean I am not praying for those that need it. |

For the record, this thread has hit the CH joke limit noted in Boyd’s signature. |

I like to throw out one big prayer in the morning and then deduct people from it as the day goes on. |
