I've never taken an Uber in my life. Wasn't planning on starting any time soon, either. |

Uber is convenient. I will not be joining Nas's boycott. Sounds like a serious mistake. |

That's fine. I can only go off of personal experience. Was down at McCormick Place for a wedding Fourth of July Weekend. We took cabs everywhere except for the wedding venue (shuttle busses for everyone at the hotel). For example, Friday night rehearsal dinner, everyone piled into Uber's. Average cost for all of them was about 25 bucks one way. Our cab ride was 12. Nas wrote: sjboyd0137 wrote: I've never taken an Uber in my life. Wasn't planning on starting any time soon, either. Took Ubers everywhere in London. Cabs are too expensive. We walked a lot, and we did a 3 day pass on the London Underground which cost about 30-35 pounds for each of us. Also did the hop on/hop off bus tour on Saturday that got us all over the place. |

In the heart of the city like that, its probably a little different. In the burbs, it can be tougher to find/call a cab and general Uber is cheaper and much more convenient. |

Probably. And let's be honest, at this point, one of us usually acts as a DD when we go out, if we're hitting the bar or whatever. I've looked at the prices when going to the airport, etc, and even then, it's made more sense for us to go park in Economy at O'Hare or in the garage in Milwaukee. |

I prefer Lyft to Uber. But I use both when I am traveling. Better accounting, cheaper in many places. From DuPage County, Uber or Lyft are usually even or up to 20% cheaper than American or 303 Taxi, which are dispatch services too. I have to hope the taxi driver's insurance is paid and isn't through a mob-run shop that will deny every claim. The one place I don't use it is in the Loop. GPS is flakey, taxis are everywhere and take a credit card for a 50 cent surcharge, and to save $2 it isn't worth it. |

My only experience was in New York. Wife already had the app on her phone so I have no idea how much it was. Had 1 driver who didn't say a word but all the others were great. |

I have definitely seen surge pricing. There was a Saturday night about three weeks ago where it was absolutely pouring down rain, and my wife and I took an Uber ride that was about two blocks long and cost $9. In areas where cabs are plentiful, you're usually better off with a cab (the price isn't that different and cab drivers tend to know the city better), but if you're out in the burbs or in a neighborhood that's under served by Cabs, Uber is great. |

Uber/Lyft can save big bucks depending on the haul. I had weekly business in Atlanta for a while. First trip I took a cab. It was $85 to get out to basically where the Braves have their new field. I took Uber back to airport and it was $33. I couldn't believe the difference. For grins, and since it was company paid, next time out I used Uber to job site and cab back and the expense was still within a couple of dollars of my original date with each. Uber was the go-to method from then on. The expense in Chicago is not as significant, so whenever I can I try and use a taxi. |

Preflight on Mannheim just south of Irving Park is way better than E or G. Once the ATS is done, lot F on top of the rental car garage will be convenient. |
