I picked up a 55" Hisense UHD 4K at Target today for $201 out the door and to my car.
I think it was an early Black Friday sale, and according to Target's website, I got the last one they had in the store, in which case, the price probably would've probably been higher when they get more in stock. We ordered flat screen legs/feet from Amazon for like $12 so we didn't have to get a wider TV stand. I'll report back when we get it hooked up and calibrated.
I have a friend that had nothing but good things to say about Hisense, so either way, it's bigger than the 1080p Sony Bravia we've had for the last 9 years. Fingers crossed. :)

According to some website the rankings on TV manufacturers are as follows:

Samsung Heavyweight QLED
LG Heavyweight OLED
Sony Heavyweight X1 Extreme processor
Vizio Heavyweight Quantum
TCL Up-and-comer Value
Hisense

Apparently, Toshiba and Panasonic no longer make TVs in the United States market. Also Hisense also sells TVs under the Sharp brand name.

I was at Best Buy the other day, and the rat's maze of flat panel TVs they had lining the store was comical.

I bought some jeans and cheap short sleeve polo-knockoff shirts online this morning. Google Fi is offering me an upgrade from my Moto G6 to the G7 for $99, and I'm considering that.

I bought most of my tech the last two years. This year I need "nice casual" clothes, some chinos and sweaters and a pair of loafers that don't look like work shoes.

My big after-Christmas purchase will be a new grill or smoker for the patio, but I need to read up on my HOA's rules on what is allowed.

How's the Google FI working out for you? My middle son, in preps for graduating and moving out at the beginning of next year, switched to his own GFI account. He gets terrible reception around here, but is hoping for better coverage in DC/VA/MD where he is moving. I understood that the GoogleFI idea was to use existing cell networks to provide the service, but jump around to optimize cost. We have terrific signal at home with VZN, I'd think he should as well, but not so.

GFI is primarily TMobile with the ability to switch to Sprint and US Cellular as well as call over wifi. I've been mostly satisfied with it. TMo by itself has some challenges in NC, especially inside large buildings, so it will switch to Sprint (or I can do it manually) as needed. If you are in primarily rural areas, VZN/ATT may be better. The only time I ever use US Cellular is in rural Illinois and Wisconsin.

The other good thing is that they have excellent roaming outside of the US. Voice is 20 cents/minute but data is the standard rate for mostly 3G/4G and wifi calling is still free.

The biggest question is whether Google will keep the program going, because they are Google and weird about that.

Moto g6 and g7 don't have TMobile band 71 for rural and buildings.

I bought a 55" Hitachi Roku recently.. love it, most TV's need a sound bar..this one has great sound, no sound bar needed.

When I moved, I splurged for a Visio Quantum HDR 65" 4K TV (PQ series) for my relatively small living room. It cost me closer to $1100 but it was reviewed in multiple places to have superior performance in daytime in rooms with opposing windows, which is my setup. I have to say it is a champ, and I'm looking forward to see how streaming works with Google Fiber.

My only Cyber Monday purchase was a Vantrue X4S 4K dashcam along with a GPS mount and a SD card. Mostly work related as I have to go out and visit client sites, although I will also use it for a driving vacation to PEI and Nova Scotia this summer.

I ended up ditching Fi this past May once TMo abandoned a bunch of their 3G towers and made it impossible to get a signal in my neighborhood. Can't recommend them now that TMo bought and integrated Sprint. I ended up moving my business to Verizon when I upgraded my G7 to a Pixel 6, since it's also my primary number for my freelance business (I have an Ooma number for emergencies and for official records). Costs a lot more but I also canned OnStar at the same time so my net costs are about the same.
