Or anybody else that knows anything about veganism. Are most vegans strict about not eating products with granulated sugar because it's often processed with bone char? I know it's 3 am but this is what's on my mind.

Are you OK Spaulding?

I don't think veganfan is really a vegan. I think it's a play on being the antithesis of a meatball fan.

I'm not vegan, but I know a few, and they'll eat sugar but not gelatin (it's made from hooves, you know).

NO!

Almost a hundred views and nobody can help me with vegans and sugar! Most mass produced granulated sugars are processed with bone char and I need to know if I can use it in baking or do I need vegan sugar?

Vegan sugar, unless you want to piss off a vegan and tell them you put bacon in your cookies.

I had no idea there was such a thing as vegan sugar.

Would 'Sugar in the Raw' qualify?

The Vegans I know use typically use agave syrup instead of sugar. But that might be entirely unrelated to their vegan diet.

Just use regular sugar, who gives a shit? I promise no vegan will be able to tell the difference

Ask your Peloton instructor?

The last hotel we stayed at had those. I didn't really like them but I don't know if because it's just a different bike than I'm used to or because it's a bad fit. Some of the instructors swear which I found odd and I'm a swearer. I didn't like a couple of them. You can get the same or a better workout with a cheaper bike and Global cycling network or Studio Sweat for free.

I have to make vegan brownies for a project for school. I thought I had it figured out but I realized sugar wasn't vegan and now I'm struggling a bit. Want to know if I can use it anyway or if they'll ding me for it.

Apparently as long as you use beet sugar, there's no bone char. I think most stores sell beet sugar in addition to or rather than cane sugar, I know Meijer does.

I'm trying zulka sugar but not sure if it will act differently or not.

Coconut sugar is vegan, acts like regular sugar. Beet sugar is cheaper I'm sure. Are you using that flax trick for eggs? I've made vegan scones, I used applesauce for sweetener.

Gluten-free baking, now that's a pain in the ass. I had to do some gluten-free cookies for Thanksgiving this year. The anise ones turned out fine, the molasses ones got hard as a rock.

I'll try coconut if I can't get zulka to work. Thx.

Flax and water make it gelatinous, really weird texture. I didn't notice a difference when I used Bob's Red Mill egg substitute. Worked pretty well. I wanted fat and oil for the rich and creamy taste so I'm using some whipped avocado and vegan butter. I didn't know how applesauce would go over in brownies.

If you want quick the cup for cup stuff is pretty good. You can play around with blends but it takes time.

Are you putting weed in them? Because I find that helps.

For gluten free cookies I would just do macaroons. Macarons are easy to convert to GF but they are a bitch to make.

Is vegan sugar seriously a thing? Like if a vegan orders a cup of coffee do they not use the sugar packets on the table?

The kind that probably doesn't need your input.

Is that because the answer is easy to google?

It was easy to google. You can read about it, and come to your own conclusion that you think everybody should believe if you want.

Milk chocolate is disgusting when you have options.
