In all honesty this kinda shit baffles me. The only reason you're getting a message is because you had to pay someone to do it. Deep fakes will render Cameo obsolete in a matter of months.

I'm sure there are people who are fake about it, but there's also times it can be pretty cool.

I stood up in my buddy's wedding in Sept, and a relative of his had Ozzie Guillen do one of these videos for him. It posted the day of the wedding. It wasn't just a twenty second, "Hey congrats on the wedding have a good day blah blah" type of video. Ozzie spent a good 90 seconds or so talking about his marriage- he said communication and laughter were key, he's not wrong- living together with kids (my buddy is now a step dad to a 9 year old), and about the White Sox a little bit. My buddy, like me, is a life long Sox fan. So for my friend, it was well worth for $50 or $75 or whatever was spent on the video.
