Does your primary care doctor harass you about doing an annual physical?

U don't have to pay a $30 copay to get a finger up your ass. Just call me.

It's called grooming. First you're submitting to physicals, next thing you know she's ordering unnecessary tests and prescribing chemo when you don't even have the cancer.

Why stop at a finger? That's like going to red lobster and leaving after a couple crab cakes.

Test the blood shortly after turning 40. If all good, next at 45. Things change more rapidly in a negative way after 35. At least they did for me.

I get PQ'd by the military every twelve months. Its archaic how much blood they take, like an actual litre. I'm getting it done in Harare next go-around, god help me.

Our health insurance covers the annual at no cost to me, and I qualify for rewards money to my HSA for getting stuff like that done, ie: skin cancer screening, two dental cleanings, vision checkup, etc. I can get like $500 back each year, which I keep any amount not spent, kind like a bonus 401K that you know you'll spend eventually.

My blood pressure went off-scale high over the course of a year, the colonoscopy found nine polyps, I have a retinal issue, skin cancer screening has led to several things getting removed- it all seems irrelevant to you when you're in your twenties, but suddenly you are no longer that young and terminally healthy, and the shit is hitting the fan every damn day, it seems like.

It is just good habit to get into now, that just might catch something really early. My coworker, a couple months older than me, (55) found his prostate cancer pretty late in the game, and has had some real trouble with the treatments. Had he gotten the finger 15 years ago, who knows? (Pick your guy, or better yet girl, by the size of their index finger.)

Of course, some of you ...

you think they'd have a blood test or something other than a poke in the bum as a medical procedure.

probably also going to want to start colonoscopies every 5 years at 40. Ask Eddie O about those

im supposed to get the butt cameras every year because of previous disease when i was in my 20s. my uncle died after going to the doctor and they found nothing and then he died. im not saying doctors are useless but you can get a good idea whats going on by looking at your shit and dont drink everyday and do a lot of cardio

True story. Had to get a stress test before the butt doc would check me. So I take the stress test. I go far and think it's all good. I ask the guy should I go ahead and schedule the colonoscopy and he says sure. So I schedule it and get my drink, take my drink, and shit for the necessary 12 hours. No big deal. I go to appointment and talk to the nurse who asks about any issues. I tell her I had the stress test as requested...BIG MISTAKE. They pull it up, and the doc who is gonna pass bass comes in and tells me I could die on the table. They won't give me the colonoscopy because of what the doctor said on the stress test. Apparently the old ticker isn't as tight as it once was. So I got all the joy of shitting all day and no pay off.

But your pants fit better so you had that going for you.

I had a slew of tests earlier this year. Turns out I’m getting old.
