Since this is supposed to be a sports board... If you could own any one sports item, what would that be? It could be a team, season tickets, a stadium, piece of history...just not a person or a horse. I would own a membership at Augusta Nat'l Golf Club, and I would provide ample opportunity for MANY of you cretins to either play the course with me and/or attend The Masters. |

An entry into the Western States 100 Endurance Run. Its the granddaddy of North American trail and ultra running races in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and due to the trail running boom in recent years almost impossible to get into. It requires a qualifying 100-mile or 100k result just to get your name in the lottery, and then an incredible amount of luck to get selected. I will likely never qualify and get chosen legitimately due to the training and time required just to qualify, but if it were handed to me I would do whatever I had to to prepare for and finish that race. |

I already 'own' Bears season tickets and that has been painful enough to tell me I would not want to be a meddlesome owner like Jerry Jones nor feel obligated to travel to Minnesota in January to watch them play out the string. All that to say I think I'd rather be a player than an owner. Either a PGA tour golfer or, since I throw lefty, a mediocre left-handed pitcher. Either way it would be a fun way to earn a nice living. |

I'm not trying to shit on you mofo, but why would anybody want to run a 100 mile race? The Sierra's are beautiful, but wouldn't you rather run a few miles a day and camp where ever on your own? Then if you saw a scenic spot and just wanted to enjoy the view or whatever, you could just chill and then move along at your own pace. |

I guess the best answer to that is to prove physically I could do it. Its no different than any other competition, it is just a quest to see how far you can push your limits mentally and physically. I totally agree with you though that a slow-paced vacation hike and camp trip would be cool too. I'd like to do that in Glacier National Park. A friend of mine did that a number of years ago and the photos were sensational. But being able to toe the line with hundreds of other trail running athletes on that famous course in a race setting would be amazing. I can't even imagine how awesome crossing that finish line would feel. Luckily they have other races much more local and affordable around here for us weekend warriors. |

I subscribe to a lot of different YouTube channels on the topic of ultra running. Some from elite athletes and others by regular people just trying to live the dream of qualifying for these events. Its a great sport for people of all ability levels. |

Hill is one of my favorite F1 drivers, that was his favorite car and, IMO, it's a great-looking car. |

Team ownership is pretty obvious but if you didn't have any personal wealth to go with it it might not be worthwhile. I'd want to own Paris Saint-Germain, but without stupid UAE money I couldn't do much with it. Give me a Skybox at the UC I can use for every event there, Bulls, Hawks, College BB, circus, concerts, whatever... |
