middle of the night I'm up thinking I gotta maintain a decent job until 67! I'm burnt out as it is. I'll probably get fired here shortly. I'm Willy Loman. nobody's going to hire an old man to sit around and post on CFMB all day. |

if it makes you feel any better im 37 and calculate ill need to work till 60 until i can retire. but that will only be with about $350k in the bank and then wait a few years for SS to kick in and live the gravy train the rest of my life. |

I recall Sherrod Brown offering a compromise to the other healthcare plans being bandied about - lower the age for Medicare eligibility to 60. The idea seemed sort of appealing. Not a drastic change but one that could help millions wanting to retire but holding on purely for insurance. It would also help the younger workforce to a degree by opening up some higher paying jobs. I would venture that the insurance companies wouldn’t mind losing the upper end of their clientele either. I’m sure there’s reasons against it too but it seems like it would be a reasonable compromise. |
