One thing you have to understand, as a Hall of Fame voter such as I, is that there are places made for those who belong. In the context of this epidemic, pandemic, superdemic, we understand who is at my level--and who is at the level of Chicago-based second basemen. My four daughters, who are scientists, working on a cure, vaccine, and robotic resolution to this crisis, are great examples of my legacy. My progeny, designated geniuses, capable of routine triple-plays at any time, are only that because I spawned them. What possibly can be said, as equals, in this process? Can we really, honestly, begin to throw laurels at anyone's feet here? Can we canonize them? Can we bronze them? When I was with The Machine, we were a team of scientists and professors of truth and absolute power. There was a fist, a collective fist, that dominated the entire Mother Earth. Of course, we could not be stopped. But put into context of this "virus", which can always be considered a missed opportunity at best, it is not even close that anyone involved in its containment is beneath my vote. I cannot, will not, should not, would not, could not, and won't, vote of confidence on this. I believe this is understood throughout the global community. Possibly, and quite potentially, the galaxal and universal, community. Containment is no more tough than scooping up a ball in play and using the cut off man to curtail a run. Perhaps in the near future, my services will be available to champion this cause. Until then, I remain a Hall of Fame voter, member, and supreme authority on the matter. |

OJ Simpson should be in this Hall. He understands the benefits of using gloves around bodily fluids. |
