Post subject: | best place to buy patio furniture? |
Finally getting around to attempting to furnish our new house. Priority one is getting some nice patio furniture for the summer. Need a table with umbrella, set of chairs, a couple lounge type chairs, maybe a few other chairs/small tables for other parts of the deck. Problem is I never realized how expensive this shit is. Went to Williams Ski and Patio yesterday and went into sticker shock. $3k-$5k for a nice metal round table with 4 chairs and an umbrella. Had no idea this shit was so expensive. But, that's a store in Highland Park so maybe it's just a really expensive store. Are there any places to get solid, but cheaper stuff? It's gonna be outside so really don't need it to be super nice. I heard Costco has stuff, but is taht worth getting a membership? Don't have a membership. What about ABT? They have a big furniture dept now. |

There's decently priced stuff at.... Juice's Lecture Notes wrote: In the audio of the body/dash cam videos, there is a 1.1 second difference between when Brooks is heard firing his taser shot and the officer firing at Brooks. Here is the frame of the wide angle video the moment Brooks fires his taser shot at the officer pursuing him: And here is the video 1.1 seconds later, which is when shots are heard being fired: So, yes that is a gun in the officer's right hand extended out, and yes he did begin to fire shots when he was even with the left-rear tire of the red car, and the moment he began to fire, Brooks was still clearly pointing his own weapon at the officer. EDIT: Google Earth puts no more than 80 feet between the position of the downed body cam (and mic) and shooting instances, which makes the speed of sound negligible in lining up the sound with video (maximum .069 seconds). Regardless, the required shift due to the time it took sound to travel to the body camera would be to earlier frames in the video, not later ones. EDIT 2: Changed second image to 3 frames later to fully account for differences in 30 fps timecoding. ...Wannemaker's |

Surely you have a friend with a costco membership? Or you could get a membership, buy your stuff and then cancel (they will refund you). That said we got ours on a good sale at Crate and Barrel a few years ago. |

Venture or Zayre, maybe Goldblatt's (not sure if it's a Christian-owned business, though) on 79th. Might also try Wieboldt's over at Ford City. |

I recommend Tropitone stuff. There are many dealers in Chicagoland including Great Escape. The stuff is high quality and lasts. https://www.tropitone.com/outdoor-furniture/residential |

Its interesting that today's youth when buying furniture just get it online. they dont need to try it out or sit on it at the store like most people usually did. |

We bought our stuff at Lowe's in Gurnee (since closed). But, there is a Lowe's in Vernon Hills on Milwaukee. We did the credit card 6 mo. 0%. And get the cheapest Costco card. It's great for dog food alone....or stocking up for parties. |

The set I really liked was a Tropitone rectangle table with 7 chairs including 2 swivel chairs. $3500. Definitely cheaper than Williams, but still not cheap. Gonna check out the cheap places as well and see if there's anything there we really like for a lot cheaper. If not, I'll probably suck it up and get the set from Great Escape. Was hoping to get something nice at around $2000. |

Anyone place with "Ski & Patio" in its name is going to be ridiculously priced. Highland Park just seals the deal. |
