I am starting a CFMB history project so that the site is on the historical record.

People in 1000 years will know this site existed.

I will be reaching out to many of you who have been here a long time. I will be asking questions.

Think of it like I'm a writer/reporter writing a book and who needs to gather as much information as possible.

The questions will be kept in this thread.

I hope to publish something by end of the year.

It will be on the public record and free.

I will start with Era's. I have some of the era's but a lot of era's are missing. Especially from like 2006 - 2016 when I was not a frequent visitor to the site.

So the first Era I had is BigFan.

How long was the BigFan Era?

Where there any Era's in between the BigFan Era?

What era succeeded the BigFan Era?

The only official Era's post BigFan I am aware of is

The Leash Era
The Nas Era
And now the current era.

Can someone give me a history of all the era's?

Someone else had posted a few weeks back about a secession earlier on where a group of posters broke away and created a new site, but it turned into a wrestling talk site. When did that happen? Can I get more info?

Did you get quarantined for a couple weeks or maybe house arrest?

HY, you’ll want to reach out to Scot. My understanding is that he’s about 3/4 the way through just such a project. From the two chapters I have read, it’s actually pretty compelling. The hand over of the board chapter is really interesting. Plus his interactions with DB and Frank as captured in PM’s and board quotes are great.

He has all the posts going back to the inception of the board.

The big chapter (pun intended) is the “Outing of Mults”. Just sick to see who was behind some of the great mults.

The other chapter I read was titled “PM’S” meant to imply a woman’s period but using the PM’s you guys sent him. A few people are going to be embarrassed as they look like complete candy asses with some of the constant whining. I can’t believe BF put up with that much nonsense. He literally has a grid with the number sent to him by top PM’ers and grades them in various categories. The “really bloody” rated ones are fucking hysterical. The top one was a person who asked BF to edit a post because it, “slandered the size of my penis, which is a genetic problem in my family”. Rofl!

Exactly the reason you should not pursue this project.

I dont understand. why not pursue it?

Are you saying there is some dark truth there that is too hard to handle? there are sinister events forces at work that will be too much to come to grips with? that should not be shared with others for the good of the community?

explain yourself

Imagine writing a book on the history of the United States but not knowing about George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. So best of luck.
