Well, it was by me about 4 minutes ago.

The Google lyrics say "a loan".

I mean, I get Papa was a rolling stone so there wasn't much love for him and they discussed his financial troubles but I wanted the only feel-good of at least they missed him.

But, maybe they were just pissed about the financial position he put them in.

Kind of bums the song out for me.

I wasn't talking to you, RR. It has a 5 minute intro into its 12 minute run-time.

Encouraged DJs to play it back in the day when they had to go use the can.

That's my next step. For now, I just randomly unload weird things I'm thinking about.

I don’t think anyone wants to read Dr. Ken on cocaine.

Although, I might have an idea for Eric Clapton.

I've changed my mind. They make mention that he's "dealing in debt".

Also, it seems clear the family doesn't think much of the man. So, I don't think they'd be that upset about being "alone".

But, if he left them "a loan", bigger issue.

No, but I'm willing to learn.

OK, I have it now. I don't know how I didn't realize before but the entire song is about his financial issues.

It's definitely "a loan".

Interesting.

I had a shit day. Let me unload the brain.

We can dissect another Temptations song if that makes everyone more comfortable - since I solved this one.

I'm game. Please rephrase that question.

No, he begged borrowed and stole to pay his bills. He was no debtor. Besides - how would he qualify for a loan? No bonds, real estate, collateral of any kind? Maybe an insurance policy.

He wasn't much on thinking, spent most of his time drinking.

You can't tell me a guy borrowing like that didn't die unexpectedly and leave some debt to the family.
