Yes, the renovated terminal is nice. But you still get to take the shitty Q70 out of there.

I was always a fan in the sense that you could get from your cab to the gate in under 15 minutes. Most cabbies can get you to midtown pretty quickly from LGA as well. But the delays were horrible, the bathrooms should be illegal, and the food choices were non existent.

Cheap fares every hour. The best fun fact about LGA is that flight distances are limited from it. As such you cannot fly directly to Vegas. And you can only fly directly to Denver because of a waiver in the distance rules.

I don't mind LaGuardia that much, although about a decade ago my dad aptly compared the AA gates to a flea market. But coming from NC pre-COVID, it was usually just as easy to fly to JFK on Delta or JetBlue and take the Air train+LIRR to Penn Station.

I was stuck there once in the late evening and the only open “restaurant” was Dunkin’ Donuts. I was stunned at what a dump it was. It reminded me of early 90s Midway.

Yeah great comparison, food court and all, although LGA’s is outside security.

Midway’s only real restaurant was outside security as well until the remodel. It was hard to believe that was once the world’s busiest airport.

As a kid, it seemed tiny. And empty. I couldn't believe it stayed open in the seventies.

I once flew into LaGuardia and back out of JFK and the difference was thirty yearsof age and grime. Although the best burger I had for decades was from a diner across from LaGuardia. Go figure.

got stuck in the quagmire of the construction a couple years ago, and was late to the airport. Luckily my flight was also delayed so I was able to make the flight.

Had an Indian bus driver that had no urgency, stpped outside to take a 15 minute break when I needed to get to the fuckin airport.

I hope the renovation was worth all the bullshit.

Saw rats running underneath the seats in the Southwest terminal and no one really seemed to care.

The last time I was in LaGuardia was in early 2019 and the road construction around the airport made our commute from the rental car drop-off to the terminal longer than the flight home. That places was tore up like a war zone, single lanes of stand-still traffic. The flights are cheap but not worth the hassle of getting there even in the best of times (though maybe all that construction has been since completed). That airport is a fucking dump.

I too was there in the midst of the construction mess a couple years ago. The uber pick up area was a complete cluster.

Oh my goodness, the taxi cab and ride share zones were horrible. But everytime I went back, I saw lots of progress. They were getting a lot done.

They’ve managed to turn Uber into a cab line with a longer walk, which is nice.

Do they still have that shitty Delta shuttle terminal? I think it was terminal A. That place was a dump and looked like it should have been demolished in the 70's or 80's.

Yes and I think it was renovated first. Locals call it the marine terminal.

Yeah, that's it. I remember having a major delay and being stuck there for hours. There was absolutely nothing to do in there. No bar, no restaurants, and a building that smelled like mold.

I liked it because security always seemed much quicker mostly because they had to get Donald Trump in and out to his plane without seeing the regular folks.

Delta moved out of there when they got more space in the terminal that they used the share with USAir before the American merger.

Now JetBlue is over there.

When Delta had the shuttle, they were flying Boston, Reagan, and O'Hare on the 76 seaters. I'd connect through there a fair amount and half the time my connection was a grand total of 20 feet.
