"Fuck you mijo." More appropriate words have never appeared on a website. I hate that degrading, insulting, downright irritating commercial. |

I can't believe at least one person who had something to do with those Tecate Light commercials didn't find it even a little offensive. |

I actually prefer the taste of diet pop to regular. I always get looked at funny (read: burrito) when I order a diet Coke or whatever, but it's not a weight issue. Regular cola is too damned sweet. |

I agree. I've always thought it would be a great idea to market a reduced-sugar Coke. Not diet, not artificially sweetened, just half the sugar. I think it would be great. Years ago I had the kiwi-strawberry Gatorade, and I really liked the flavor, and was reminded how shitty the kiwi-strawberry Snapple was, because it tasted like strawberry pancake syrup. Way too much sugar. Just cut it back a little and it would be a lot better |

Who looks at you funny for ordering a Diet Coke? Everybody drinks that. When I go out for a business lunch, I am almost always the only person to order a regular Coke (when I'm not doing the 3 martini lunch). Which brings me to the ad that I despise - the Coke "when you put it in the office 'fridge, there's gonna be some shareage" commercial. BURY THAT THING ALREADY!! |

Nas wrote: Tecate isn't a bad beer but I've never understood the light thing. If you are drinking beer why would you care if it was light? If you are that conscience about your weight then you shouldn't be drinking beer in the first place. I feel the same about diet pop.
Its not a weight thing a lot of times, but a matter of taste and how you want to feel in a few hours. This isn't the case with Mexican beers, since they tend to be lighter across the board, but I'll take Bud Light over Budweiser because Bud feels like a lead weight in my stomach after two or three, and Coors Light over Coors because it tastes better than the Banquet Beer. |

Have you tried a Guinness? |

Nothing wrong with Diet Coke, but drinking light beer is like drinking decaf coffee. What's the point? And it's not like you are saving many calories by drinking light. |

Actually, the light beer/decaf coffee analogy might be more apt than the light beer/diet soda analogy (I now await the myriad comments about why decaf coffee is far superior to regular coffee.) I've never understood why anyone would get decaffinated coffee- it's like buying detobaccoed cigars, or decocinated blow. |

I feel fairly confident that decocinated isn't a word...but that didn't stop me from laughing. I drink diet pop b/c the regular stuff is too freaking sweet. The new commercial that irritates the shit out of me is the Propel fitness water horseshit. "There's gummy worms all over aisle six!" "Turn back! Just turn back!" Instant dial flippage in the car. |
