Sleep, how much do you get a night and is it enough to keep you going? I have a sleep apnea machine and since I got it, if I can get 6 good hours, I am good to go. Before I got it, I could sleep 10 hours and still be exhausted.

5 hours of continuous sleep is rare, but still glorious.

I usually rest for at least seven hours total.

I've been drinking less lately and the nights I don't drink at all I sleep like a baby and wake up refreshed after about 7 hours. When I do drink I can sleep for 10 hours and still wake up tired.

Ive been exhausted for the last two weeks whether I sleep 5 or 8 hours. 10... Fuck, a boy can dream but I have to be half dead for that to happen. Ill try to toss a nap in here or there but generally there is too much going on for me to actually fall asleep.

I'm usually between 6 and 7 hours. I have one of those Oura rings and I can break down how much REM sleep I get, how often I move around and when I wake up during the night. I don't really spend much time analyzing it but it is there if I need it. I'll generally get less sleep Friday and Saturday nights since I know I am getting up early to golf and sometimes I get a bit anxious about it.

Drinking a big glass of water before bed might make you pee at 2am, but its also one of the best things you can do to help prevent a heartattack in your sleep.

I sleep 8 hours usually.

Its a happy day when it is only one trip. Its also probably a sober day when it is only one trip.

Pretty sure the water before bed helping prevent a heart attack is a myth.

water before bed prevents a shitload of problems. whenever i forget it is very apparent. i get 8 hours, dont care if work is calling. my problem is if i stay up too late i cant get to sleep, and if i go to bed too early i wake up at 2am just wired and bored as hell.

Drinking the correct amount of water throughout the day is a good thing. Timing matters little and waiting until bedtime only results in you getting less sleep.

I've had insomnia since about 1974. I believe a lot initially could be attributed to asthma medication in my early teens.

I've been given CPAP machine but I find it impossible to use. Simply impossible.

This chronic condition pre-dated any use of alcohol, drugs or caffeine, and has plagued me nearly my entire life. I envy my wife, who could fall asleep anywhere, anytime. If you can, God bless.

Have you tried melatonin? Seems safe with no significant side effects or addictive properties. I’ve taken it after some long flights and it does help.

Yes, thank you, and no, it didn't work.

Costco sells a Sleep Aid under the Kirkland brand. Get 2 bottles of like 500 tablets for $30 or so.

Take 1 about an hour before you want to sleep. Works better than Melatonin.
