Here's a chance to step back, take a break from all the arguing, and assess ur fellow posters on the rsports analysis skills!

Not politics, not R.I.P. posts, not posts about dining and movies. ONLY about their sports analysis skills.

Do they know what theyre talkin' about? Do they have good prediction skills? i.e., are they the Steve Stone of the board? Are they funny while doin' it?

Rate the following posters 1-10, with 10 being a senior expert, and 1 being a ballboy.

FF is one I trust the most. He is surprisingly objective.

I think he’s relatively objective, even on football.

Of course objective ≠ good, but all relative I suppose.

He's not on the list, but Chet has consistently excellent baseball thoughts.

HY didn’t make the list. He has a lot of thoughts.

Keyser Soze had great baseball insight.
Reader is well rounded with respect to the 3 majors. I believe Football is probably his strength.
Nas is particularly strong when it comes to Football.
FavreFan is well rounded with respect to the 3 majors also. I think Football is his strength also.

Of the guys that discuss basketball primarily
Erotic Lawyer is very good.
So is Ron Wolfley and Shakes.

They know their shit. But truth be told there are a lot of guys that post in the basketball threads that are good these days. This is in stark contrast to what it happened to be a few years ago.

I have been mostly a casual sports fan for about a decade. I blame my kids. For the first few years after I joined the board Spinnin Buckets and I were the only posters who came here to talk sports. Then FF joined us.

I've enjoyed reading the sports thoughts of MANY, but this has never been a sports dominate board. Sports radio, politics and drama have been the things that move the meters here.

LTG and shakes stand out for basketball. Every other sport you get various levels of meatbalism.

Part of that is probably due to the teams being mostly mediocre over the last 10-15 years.

We've had every major team win a championship, play for a championship or at worst, play in a conference finals and be one of the top 3 teams in the league for 3 years. In the history of Chicago sports, there has literally never been a stretch better than 2005-2017

Only 2 teams had success though.

You are clearly forgetting the 94 mythical World Series win for the White Sox my friend!

I used to be a huge football and baseball fan as well. Listening to the Score (ironically) soured me on watching and following Football. I still follow it somewhat. Baseball too but nowhere near as much as I did up until my early- mid 20's I guess.

Some posters act as play by play folks and others are the analysts/color commentator, though I enjoy both. Here are a few that wear the analyst hat sometimes. Probably missing a few. I don't always agree but I enjoy the depth they add to the convo:

Clawmaster
NME
Tall Midget
LTG

2005 - 2017:

Two World Series titles
Three Stanley Cups
One NBA Conference Finals
One Superbowl loss
One NFL conference championship loss

5 Championships between three teams

1985 - 1997
One Superbowl
Six NBA Finals
One Stanley Cup loss

7 Championships between two teams

Might be missing a few notable accomplishments
