It's been a while since we had an active roster of bored members pets. Unfortunately I know we have lost some over the years but I am guessing that some have added a few and maybe there are even plans for a pet under the tree this year for a child or themselves. I have an brindle colored Boxer at home that goes by the name of Hank. He will be 9 in early April and is graying at a rate surpassing even myself. He is still in pretty good physical shape overall but having owned a two prior to him I know that somewhere between 10-12 is when they tend to tap out. According to my wife, this is going to be the last dog for us. |

a fish has to be the most bored pet. dogs can at least stare out the window and bark at stuff. Cats do whatever it is cats do. But fish, they live in a small box just hoping for someone to feed them and clean the tank once in awhile |

My son came home from school and got a small dog. Because we used to have a little dog for a dozen years and because I love my other son's Rottweiler he assumed I'd be all for it. But I don't have the heart to tell him I don't. I cannot stand small dogs. And this one is barking and growling at the window 12' away as I type. |

10 year old Bernese Mountain Dog still hanging around. He's an asshole most of the time. My wife switched him to senior dog food. Now he smells like old people. |

We have 4 dogs at the moment. I think we lost 3 dogs during the time I've been on this board to age or cancer and added three dogs. We have a yellow lab that is 10 and then an Anatolian shepherd mix, a German shepherd/Husky mix and my young Vizsla that replaced my German shorthair who we had to put down early in 2020 because of bone cancer. There are times I think they are the most annoying creatures on the planet but mostly I can't imagine not having dogs. |

We have 1 soon to be 3 year old lab that hasn't been murdered. We were looking at adding another last spring, but the prices had become outrageous. We'll probably look in the next month to add another in a spring as long as the prices aren't ridiculous. |

6 button quail One cockatiel (an early Christmas gift). She's sharp as a tack and funny as all hell. Good for the kids to snuggle with, too. |

Prices?! Good god Nas, there are hundreds of dogs within 20 miles of you sitting in shelters just waiting to be adopted. Adopt, don't shop. |

Actually wasn't the case last year in a lot of areas but unfortunately a lot of people lost interest in their pandemic dogs and shelters have a lot more residents now. |

Not sure what its like now but last year before I got Jerry from Bagels there wasnt an adoption place within 50 miles that had a dog available. Pandemic changed a lot |

This is our cat Caitlyn. When we adopted her, the shelter said she was a boy cat. We got him home, the wife was gonna name him Andre. So first hour we get this cat out of the crate at home and I'm looking and him and I said ya know I'm not veterinarian, but I don't think that's a boy cat. So once it was a boy, turns out to be a girl. So my wife named her Caiyn Jennah. |

I think I posted these 3 the last time someone did a thread like this in maybe 2016/17. All 3 are rescues from the company housing we used to live in. The two on the right are brother and sister. Never wanted more than two cats at a time, but things happen. All pretty good cats. This is from last year. |

JBills..... yeah 3 cats can be a lot. During my first marriage there was a time when we had 3 cats and two boxers for a while. The cats do their own thing which is fine but cleaning up after 3 cats got to be pretty disgusting, even when we had 3 boxes. I also probably could have been cleaning the boxes more regularly than once a week but that's on me. Nice to get the update on everyone's pets. |
