Post subject: | The "overuse" of quotation marks |
Lately I've "noticed" that random "words" in sentences have "been" put into quotation marks in an "unnecessary" way. It "seems" like maybe someone was "attempting" to use them to "emphasize" words like perhaps the "way" one might use italics. It could "also" be the people using these punctuation "marks" inappropriately are "morons" but these people "have" repeatedly told "me" that they are "the" smartest people on the "planet". So tell me, was there "a" change to the general "English" language that I didn't get "alerted" to? Thanks. |

What do you consider quotation marks? Double? Single? Either? Both?....like a single on one side and a double on the other? |

Is there a provision in thee CFMB "handbook" which states that YOU have to be "alerted" prior to anyone's use of "quotation marks"? Just Asking A "Question" |

Have you been reading a lot of Jim O'Donnell columns? Dude that guy is fucking horrible in a paper that is all but worthless. I spend less than five minutes looking through it to see if there is anything of interest. The last time I found something was when there was that execution in the fitness lot in West Dundee as a follow on to that Elgin shooting. Hmm well that was close to my old home… |

Their beat reporting used to be decent. But then they stopped letting those guys go to away games and cut back on the reporters. |

I was quoted by Imren (sp?) and that Jack Mabley guy when the Clones Star Wars movie came out. I was pissed at Mabley because he said the movie sucked after admitting he never saw it. His logic was he parroting the DH movie critic. Imren quoted me as I wrote saying he had the skills of Jar Jar Binks. And thanks Midget, I knew you were. Rozner is my bat signal. |

Unnecessary quotes not necessarily a 'recent' development? |

This is really getting out of hand again. Or still. Either way, their misuse is making the posters posts very difficult to read. |
