Federer - 20 grand slams in 81 attempts - 40 yrs old. Will not win any more, may not even play any more. Djokovic - 20 grand slams in 67 attempts - 35 yrs old. Has the most time and opportunities in front of him to add to his record. Nadal - 22 grand slams in 64 attempts - 36 yrs old. Crazy record on clay. 112-3 at the French open with 14 titles. Had some injury issues that may limit him going forward. I have always thought Federer was going to be seen as the GOAT. Great player on all surfaces. But Nadal's numbers are impressive and Djokovic has time to add a few more. It seems now that Djokovic if he stays healthy will end his career as the GOAT. Just a crazy stretch in men's tennis. And I know some will argue that they played during a time in which the game was down and such. But those numbers are amazing no matter what the context. |

if joker wins one more i think he gets the goat title. nadal's insane clay dominance actually hurts him in this argument because he "only" had 8 at the other 3 events |

If he could have won a few more on hard surfaces he would clearly be the GOAT. But man what a dominant clay player. |

It's got to be Andre Agassi. |

Gotta be Joker, no? I think Federer gets an edge as he doesn’t look like a giant goober and comes across as sophisticated enough/borderline American. Djokavic seems like an exchange student who’d rip heaters during dinner and steal all of his host family’s jeans before going back to whatever concrete-filled hellscape birthed him. |

No doubt Federer has benefited from how he carries himself. He is basically the epitome of class and the perfect spokesman for the sport. Joker has struggled at times with that part of his career. I think he has really grown in that area. He has learned how to be a better spokesman for the sport. But it has been a struggle. |

If these cuck europeans played a real sport like basketball, maybe we could name a GOAT. Hitting a fuzzy neon ball with a racket? GTFO. |

He also did not have as much success in Australia which is surprising as he was so good on hard surfaces. |

Put me down with a vote for Federer as well (unless we're talking Serena). It was never interesting to watch him put you had to respect his talent. |

Yeah they had some battles. And if you factor in doubles results McEnroe moves way up the list. Some consider him to be the greatest doubles players of all time. |

Because I had a head of floppy curls like McEnroe, the local gang boss used to call me McEnroe. Did until he died five years ago. Great dude. Stopped me from at least one charge. |

RFDC wrote: Tall Midget wrote: McEnroe. His run in 83-84 may be the best year for any player. That was a fun era. Back when the goal was to get to the net. Now it’s all played from the baseline. I was a Vitas Gerulaitis guy but he was never more than the 4th or 5th best player. Borg, Connors, Mac were always just a bit better. |

Just watched the McEnore/Borg fire and ice documentary. Really good. If you are a fan of tennis you should check it out. Crazy to think that neither guy won a major after the age of 25. |

Crazy to think that neither guy won a major after the age of 25. until this crop came along, a lot of tennis players were "over the hill" after their mid-twenties because they turned pro between 16-18 and probably didn't have the diet and regiment that modern athletes do. same with soccer players. 30 was old age...but now mid-30's still seems like a decent age for a player. between federer, djokovic and nadal you wouldn't be wrong whatever order you put them in as far as i'm concerned. on the woman's side, it's serena by far. |

Borg was amazing with that wood racket. That was the beginning of prime tennis for me until it I stopped watching during the Sampras era. |
