October is the best month on the sports calendar. 1. MLB playoffs: 2. NFL doing its usual thing; 3. College Football hitting its stride; 4. NBA starting up; and 5. NHL starting up. Am I off base here? |

Also, the WNBA is in they off-season, allowing more space in the sports pages for the stuff you mentioned. But yes, I agree. |

It is great, but I take May as well. Both NBA and NHL playoffs are awesome, and Chicago baseball teams still have a chance in the MLB season. |

I actually prefer April to May because you occasionally get the Final Four games and Tournament Title game in April. |
