Interesting reads on how the Twitter folks are reacting. Have worked for a few companies that were sold and it is common practice to assess and trim staff, the new owners want their people in decision making positions, been happening forever. However, if you read the odd reactions by the Twitter people in almost total mental breakdown mode because they were being assessed, you would think this is the first time this has ever happened. Worked for one place that was bought by a well known European "Turn Around" company. Ended up being the guy that was tasked with identifying underperformers, they were pretty interested in individual production spreadsheets and ruthlessly laid off groups of 3-5 people each month until they found a buyer and sold off the entire division. There was certainly no mass media coverage of this because it was happening all across the nation during the economic downturn when Obama was in office. |

This is definitely normal but there are better ways to do this. Not the same scale at all but it brings to mind the dumbass way Biden left Afghanistan. Just no thought and horrible execution. Obviously stakes much lower here. Also not everyone who works at Twitter is necessarily a SJW. I'm surprised the engineering and data divisions took a hit as these are usually the core business unit of a software company like Twitter. Usually you tackle support divisions first and then see what other fat you might be able to trim before you get to the core units. A takeover like this was dramatized in season 2 I think of Succession. |

I like how "How good of a job is Musk doing in running twitter?" has become political. However, this is undeniably another horrible decision by Musk. Twitter as a platform allows you to change your name to anything you want that is displayed next to your username/handle that doesn't change and is unique. Idiots on twitter who are mad at Musk for trolling like he is are turning around and trolling him by changing their name to Elon Musk. So, Musk has two options: 1) Change the code so you can't change your name to a verified public name(no Musk, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Joe Orr). Anyone who has it now gets a 1 put after it. 2) Ban people for it. He can do either option but 1 is clearly the only sane one. |

Interesting that he is "exposing" how Twitter suppressed stuff that was unfavorable to Dems, everyone knew that, why else would useful idiots like Bernstein and Parkins rely on Twitter to tell them how to think about things, but the almost stereotypical reaction by the media toward the dude that reported the stuff is the real tell here and not sure if the mainstream media even knows how silly and irrelevant, they have become. The Dems have been successful in infiltrating the education system, the "journalism" departments are cranking out dutiful soldiers that will tote the company line at all costs, of course there are a few kids/relatives of high ranking Dems sprinkled in as "commentators" to make sure all the network and cable news departments do the same. Always find if odd that even the local news will have the exact same top local stories, and of course the investigative journalism and consumer protection type stuff has been squashed completely, so you get a bunch of feel good BS with young Journalism grads pimping for local government and non profits, waxing on and on about how great things are, going out of their way to not report any criminal activity, most people get the actual news from Facebook, so you know what areas to avoid. The local news presents an imaginary version of Rockford where unicorns are flapping their wings and farting rainbow contrails into the air for all the populace to enjoy, while the local populace is monitoring a few Facebook Rockford crime pages for real information. This is the type of reality that the collective mindset social media crap like Twitter, Facebook, and Tik Tok have helped to create. |
