Are these mf'ers really not coming off sticker or is this cock-sucker salesman trying to take advantage of my septuagenarian mother in law ? ( Im guessing I already know the answer) |

( Im guessing I already know the answer) Stan's. He's probably trying to take advantage of her. After all, she's buying a car around income tax season. They don't have to make deals. |

The best you can hope for these days is a low finance rate. |

Otherwise, wait a few months until the model year is getting closer to ending. |

I went in recently expecting to pay sticker at Sutton Ford and they were unwilling to sell me a car unless I agreed to the undercoating and glass etching. Total was about 2K over sticker. I don’t need a new car yet. |

I bought a Tucson last week for my wife. It seems any discount is just marginal around the sticker. Your biggest leverage is maximizing trade in or we seemed to get a great rat with +825 credit ratings. |

offer 20 percent over list right out the gate, only way these days. even then you'll probably get outbid by Mormon car hoarders. |

I also noticed Toyota still has problems having enough cars to buy. |

I'm sure its working great. |

I was looking into replacing a truck and the locals are right around sticker. In the bigger towns further away they are still above sticker on many of the models I was looking for. The real cute one I'm seeing is they add a whole bunch of "services" on that are worth nothing but cost several thousand dollars and then give you a discount down to sticker or maybe 500 under sticker. What a deal! Basically the undercoat, carpet treatment and glass etching I'm sure. I'll probably look again in a few months. |

I bought a Subaru Forester last week as my ten year old Equinox's engine was about to melt down. The only one in my region in the higher trim level I wanted which wasn't presold before transit, it was a trade with a Virginia dealer, verified by the online Starlink system registration. It arrived at the dealership on Thursday afternoon and I bought it Friday night. MSRP - $200, 3.9% for 48 months. |

In my opinion the days of haggling for cars dying is a good thing. |

I'm sure its working great. Yeah something like that. They said they they mark each window so that in the event of a theft they cant sell any pieces of the car separate. I didnt really stick around long enough to hear the whole story. I was so pissed after sitting with the salesman and then dealing with the manager they came back with my super discounted buy price way over sticker. |

wages are going to have to go way up because prices wont be coming down. were seeing the type of inflation we had in the 70s/80s and it became the new norm. with cars, they had to downsize and lighten up to keep sales up. we got shit vehicles in the 90s but technology overall improved reliability enough that we came out ok long term. but now were maxed out again and it's going to take a big leap in something to make things roll again. im afraid were stuck with the shit situation until battery technology take a huge leap forward. good thing is that is definitely coming... A lithium battery pack costs $15k right now and it only gets you 300 miles on a charge for about 8 years at best. That's not good enough. But in a few years we will have packs that weigh half as much, double the range and last 20 years. It will drive down costs so much that new car sales will only be driven by aesthetics, but also by then we will probably have full self driving which will mean most people wont even need to own a car- just flag one on your phone and it shows up like a cab. that will also drive down costs because demand will be so much lower. but right now its just going to be a few more years of shit any way you look at it. "stay home 2 weeks to flatten the curve" was the worst thing we could possibly have done but of course we will never admit it. |

I went with my daughter to buy a 23 Subaru CrossTrek in December. She had put $300 down to order one with her desired trim. That gave her a firm delivery date, rather than waiting for one to stick around on the lot. I wanted her to buy in the city she lives in to establish some connection to a dealership not back home. They came in under MSRP by about $500, and offered scrap value for her old Mazda, which I kept. She had cash to pay in full, but only paid half and let them finance half to build her credit rating. The only really intense pressure came not from the salesperson, but the finance person, who nearly drove me to okay an extended warranty. "There are 13 computers and eleven miles of wire on this car, which Subaru outsources, and they only believe in them for three years...". Nice try, but she said NO! |

sadly that finance person wasnt wrong. i routinely have people tell me some module went out in their car and it costs thousands to replace. so fucking dumb. |

Right now, we are in the after math of all those expensive cars getting repossessed from the sales the last couple years. Have you ever looked up what it takes to mine the materials for the batteries of these cars? |

The car market may be somewhat screwed, but realtors are doing a great job keeping foreclosures off the MLS. They're MVP candidates when it comes to our economy staying afloat. |

They’ve been pulling off that fraud in “better” neighborhoods for years. But a quick look below the surface reveals that, realtors are generally pretty stupid people imo. |
