After all the other fund raising, I wondered when this would happen. Leave it to the lawers. |

Attending parties such as these back in the day just makes all the (Spaulding inspired) paranoia just seem so tame. I was much too young for this particular Warehouse but I did used to go to the one on Randolph in the 90's. Transsexual/homosexual people would always attend "those" parties but for the most part no one really gave a shit. They had their lane and everyone else had theirs. No big deal. |

I just watched a documentary on the early years of House music and remember the stories about the place from high school classmates. I was too young for the original Warehouse, but the Plant and the Box were it for me. I will never forget how cruddy those clubs and neighborhoods were back then. Funny thing is that there were few problems and the next thing you knew was that the same kind of people breathed new life into/created River North. And later River West with the Warehouse on Randolph in what then a wasteland. And as little as there was, there wasn't near the defeatist bs that goes with MANY around here. And damn it was fun. Black, White, Puerto Rican, straight or gay. Unlike the miserable assholes like Steve Dahl and his ilk. |
