Has anyone been sober for 3 weeks straight? From everything? Shits weird man. 80% of the bartenders I know hate me now. Yes water, stop asking and don't worry you're still getting $10. Suddenly I'm not cool anymore. Pretty neat though, the couple that love it. They talk to me way more now. And why do some bars charge $5 for a lemonade, but only $1 more to add vodka, but other bars don't even charge for the lemonade? The other thing I notice is I never had a bad drink bill... it was always the fucking food.

teetotaler in a bar is like walking around a nude beach fully-clothed.

There's literally nothing you can do in Wisconsin that doesn't have people drinking there.

Welp Ike, you finally posted something I can agree with. I guess sex and yard work do not require drinking, but sex normally involves drink before it and yard work after. I am typically sober when I grocery shop.

I went the first three months of January with just one alcoholic drink. But I didn't go into bars during that time.

it's not as fun. but definitely feeling a hell of a lot better. i usually drink only on the weekends but i notice even that was dragging me down a bit. anyway i had a drink yesterday at the community pool. hot sun, a double vodka lemonade... was grand. but oddly i still feel it today. my tolerance is completely gone.

I've never met a person who could drink me under the table. Even a bigger and taller Hood can't get it done.

I go through long spells of not drinking. I have a couple of friends on the wagon and I won't drink if I'm out with them, not that they would object.

Ike dead-ass sober at the bar so he can fully appreciate being passed over by 30-something single moms for the nearest early 20's dudes.

I haven't had a drink in probably a decade. I have played softball with a group of guys for the past 7 or 8 years who all get smashed before games, during games and after games. They haven't disinvited me and i'm terrible at softball so I must be fun enough to hang.

I haven't missed it. for me it was a health thing. I like food, it was food or booze.

Unfortunately come from a family of experienced alcoholics, one of which is still in his drinking prime and he and his cronies would more than likely give you a run for your money.

Personal and professional experience has taught that hard core drinkers will exhibit a similar smell to people freshly out of surgery, one's pores are excreting the unforgettable smell of anesthesia and the other alcohol, both are in a semiconscious state, but the smell is similar.

That smell lets me know the level of alcoholic you are dealing with because they have practiced enough to circumvent the bodies alcohol defense mechanisms to the point that the body has moved on to drastic measures.

Fermented trash can produce may be alcoholic.

I've always been a social drinker. I can count on a few fingers the number of times I've drank alone. These days, that likely means I have a fresher liver. That fresh liver likely gives me the edge.

Alcoholism is difficult. I recently learned how hard it actually is to get help. I now have a little bit more grace for people who are fighting that addiction.
