Spent more money on silk bedsheets than it cost for the bed itself. Felt stupid the whole time I was waiting for them to arrive. Now I can't believe I never did this to begin with. I've had fake silk and expensive cottons .. but this is insane. Anyone else have real silk bedsheets?

Why is silk better than 300+ thread cotton?

No comparison. Silk melts into you like sex. It feels like the inside of a good vagina.

I feel like you'd have to dry clean them or they'll go to shit.

Do you normally let your feelings dictate your life? Silk is much more durable than cotton

I had a real mulberry silk pillowcase for about a year before I bought these sheets. It cost like $35. I wash it with everything else and even dry it on high. It gets abused. Still like new.

That said, $900 sheet set certainly won't be washed without care. I plan on air drying them only, and using detergent made for delicate fabrics. You really don't even need detergent, as silk doesn't absorb dirt like cotton does.

Silk seems uncomfortable, like you'd slide around a lot

"seems" like you never tried it. Fake silk is slippery. Still comfortable, but hot and slippery, which does make it extremely annoying to sleep in.

Real silk has more texture to it. Hard to explain. Ive never known anyone to have full silk sheet set... Everyone including me has had the knockoff silk stuff but it's nowhere near the same.

Buy a pillowcase and you'll see what I mean. It's a magic textile.

I hear bamboo is good too if you're more poor than I am. What site did you buy them from? I might get a set to keep myself grounded with society.

Don't you know what this means?

It would change everything. I'd have to dress differently. I'd have to act differently.

I'd have to grow a mustache and get all kinds of robes and lotions and I'd need a new bedspread and new curtains.

I'd have to get thick carpeting and weirdo lighting. I'd have to get new friends. I'd have to get orgy friends.

I don't get why silk equates to being gay. I would have tried it a long time ago but it's absurdly expensive. But after reading that many people worry about the suffering of the worms that produce the fibers, I had to try it. So glad I did. If I can make them last 2 years... That's $500/yr for a lifetime of getting lost between the sheets.

I also dropped $450 on a 3" latex topper pad.. it should make my $600 matress feel like a real one. Apparently those are made to order though, fuckers won't tell me when that's coming.

I switched to the bamboo for hiking use (from the synthetic Ex Officio brand boxers, never liked that they were pure synthetic but everyone recommends them for hiking the AT) + everyone gets swamp ass this time of year in the mid-south and below. Doesn't matter if you're 5'7" five spins or 6'1" 140....just walking around Nashville June to September you sweat like a guy with warrants pulled over riding dirty.

I had silk seats put in my car.

My insurance rates skyrocketed. But they were comfortable.

Why would anyone walk around Nashville during that time frame when you can fry an egg on the sidewalk?

I wear cotton and I don't have that problem, my friend. You haven't checked enough asses. You have some work to do.

I, for one, hear you loud and clear. Big fan of luxury when it comes to the bedroom workbench. It should have all the proper tools and accessories befitting a true craftsman.

Mods change thread title to “I’m a gay man.”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
