Finding the spin cycles to be increasingly odd these days, started seeing articles about the poor box office results for the latest Indiana Jones movie pop up in newsfeeds, there was a throw away sentence about how a small budget movie called, "Sound of Freedom" had beaten the rather expensively made final episode of the Indiana Jones franchise at the box office.

Had no idea what the small budget movie was about, but noticed in the comments section that some people apparently really hated this Sound of Freedom movie, which of course caused a little deeper dive into the story which instantly began revealing that some people had almost the exact same take on the movie which seems impossible unless they were being instructed to go and post almost the exact same reaction to the movie in as many comment sections as possible.

This all caused me to wonder if this all was a work, who really cares that much about a small budget movie, why did so many feel the almost visceral need to dutifully repost the exact same takes on the film?

It must be a work, a cleverly orchestrated effort by the small budget moviemaker to drum up interest in the film?

Isn't it about fucking kids? Not surprising it's so successful.

This was difficult to read. What's more, some of the phrasing is a bit off, as if an alien masquerading as an American were writing.

An odd reply, you must not be a very curious dude, sadly you are not alone.

The Claw is nothing more than an obnoxiously curious observer of the human condition who likes to learn about the stuff people are yapping about.

Ok, makes sense now, work and shoot are terms the pro wrasslers use, goes back to the old traveling circus/freak show days, attempts to drum up support and revenue for an event. You can also throw in the term "mark" for the people you want to con, in this case you have marks on both sides who are dutifully spreading the con via social media, a kind of modern freak show where the carnival barker uses a right or left wing site instead of a magaphone to get the con spread, but they never would have imagined there would be so many willing marks who would march out on twitter and deliver the message by cut and pasting the spin.

How else can you explain the exact same words and phrases being used everywhere, and the lock step take on something?

Ahh..another lad that is enamored with the Claw, and who isn't, but as I have told your fellow Claw chasers you will have to take a number and get in line as there are many folks that are far more physically and intellectually attractive than you already in line.

Maybe this will make it easier to understand for the more...intellectually challenged members here.

In Junior High my buddies and I would dutifully watch the old AWA wrestling TV show, we all were willing marks who were willing to suspend disbelief because we liked watching grown ass dudes beat the hell out of each other, we would then copy the moves and try to beat the hell out of each other, it was what dudes did back then.

So, we watched the show and heard the crowd chanting "Weasel, Weasel" at Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, we all hated Bobby so we copied the chant when we attended the live AWA house shows at Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford, it was a work, they worked us into all thinking and acting the same, of course we were in sixth grade and didn't know any better, but the entire crowd all acted the same way. A crowd full of marks that were all worked into thinking and behaving the same way.

Later we learned that Bobby Heenan and Verne Gagne carefully planned the entire storyline because they could replicate the "Weasel Suit" matches in each town in the AWA territory, this particular work drew crowds and made Bobby and Verne a ton of money.

Realize my thesis sentence was a bit too concise, but it does seem that the exact same thing is being down to work the left and right these days by people far less talented and clever than Bobby Heenan, but some people have an almost evangelical devotion to their political party of choice these days so they exhibit a level of markdom that makes them easy marks who are incredibly easy to work.

Ok, that actually does clarify your post quite a bit.
