This bitch built a boat to record some data for her PhD, but the boat lost signal and drifted away.

She says it will set her degree back 1 year if she can't find it.

A $50 android phone with location turned on would have prevented this loss. In fact I would have used that for the control as well. I would have even made it automatically drive back to the launch site if it loses cell signal. Every fucking drone on the planet has this capability now. How in the fuck do you not think of this when you're going for a fucking doctorate.

a year delay isn't that bad or uncommon for folks pursuing doctorates. not sure why losing data from one boat trip would set her back a full year, unless she was storing all the data gathered to date on the stupid thing and wasn't off-loading it somewhere after each data-gathering mission.

i wouldn't. whatever shes learning must be so specialized you don't need to know much else. if they had phd's for people that know how stay blackout drunk yet mostly functional, i would have one.
