Post subject:  Youtube versus Adblockers

It looks like Youtube is on the verge of winning. I'm on my fourth adblocker now, but there isn't too many more that can get round Youtube's detection.

I don't blame Google and YouTube for what they're doing. They're protecting their business model. But they're also putting the adblocker companies out of business. Many people have already uninstalled the extensions. I'm surprised the Youtube hack has gone on for as long as it has.

I did the free 3 month ad free trial late last and got hooked without the ads. They got me for almost a year before I stopped paying. It took about a month to get comfortable looking at YouTube with ads.

If only Obama were in office we'd all have free adblockers.

Unlock origin still works. It will only cease to work once YouTube starts embedding ads into the videos. And they can't do that while still keeping their premium users happy.

It will work until the DOJ indicts the CEO for some bullshit.

Musk is pretty damn lucky he sends military hardware into orbit every other week or he'd be fucked.

agreed. its probably the only reason he "created" starlink. it's probably been in the government's works for awhile now, but they didn't have a cost effective way to get the satellites in orbit. it seemed weird how fast musk was able to 'design and build' those things.

So with its latest update to Chrome, Google figured how to stop Adblock from working, which sucks.

Not being aware there is automatic update for Chrome in my Windows 7 (Yes I still have Windows 7, which is the best OS), it upgraded to the new version of Chrome and caused Adblock to stop working. It also removed all my saved settings with passwords.

Adblock works with Mozilla but only after you go to a video, back click and then forward click. It does not work the first time you click on the video.

I tried to remove Chrome and then install an old version of Chrome. But then Adblock says it cannot work without an updated version of Chrome. So that didn't work.

Only thing left is to do a system restore and disable Google updating for Chrome.

If anyone else has a work-around or a way to make the new Chrome version work with an adblocker, please post it.
