I've heard that rumor. It came up after his death from liver disease. I don't think it's true. He was never freakishly HUGE, he didn't display many other signs of steroid use and stayed in almost the same shape after his retirement. I also would refuse to believe it because the was the greatest footaball player of all time and I'm biased. |

Lamar Mundane. Greatest playground ballplayer that Chicago has ever known. Got a mention and appearance in a Reebok ad in the early to mid 90's. He struck fear in anyone from the courts at 63rd St. Beach to the west side. Or, if not him, the summer league at Chicago State back in the mid 80's. Playboy (yes the mag.) sponsored a summer league team that at one point had Isiah Thomas, Terry Cummings and a young MJ along with several and other sundry NBA players. Isiah had his ankles broken by Tracy Dildy, MJ stopped traffic all the way to 87th & King Drive if he was going to play and the parties in/on the courts/parking lots outside of the PE building were the shit. It was a pure fest. It was South side Mardi Gras. |
