Only because you haven't actually read the Sleeping Giants original post. Instead of being passive-aggressive about it then actually respond to the points made. The young talent they had at the time didn't work out in a spectacular failure. Now look at the rest of the things said in it.

I agreed with 85% of what Hahn did and firing him felt like firing myself. I don't know if it would have made any difference if Hahn got his manager pick in Hinch but I sure would have liked to find out.

I feel the same way about Hahn. Most of the young players he acquired were well regarded, or at least better regarded than the players that Getz has been acquiring, they just didn't work out. However, Hinch would not have made a difference with that group.

We had this conversation in that same thread. I don't think calling them Sleeping giants gives you 10 years. If you have said rip van winkle of sports then maybe I'd give you those 10 years. To your point you didn't put a timeline on it, but that mainly out of cowardice and or trolling.

Again, you completely misunderstand the point if you think 10 years was too long of a timeline. The very concept of a "sleeping giant" has a long time frame associated with it.

It's your choice though. You can either respond to the original post, even with the benefit of hindsight as at least one line item failed, or you can just continue to act like it was a "White Sox will win the World Series in 2024" thread if you want.

The Astros/White Sox 2021 ALDS thread is pretty great. The Sox fans thought the Sox were going to steamroll a 95 win Astros team that has the best offense in the AL and the second best pitching in the AL. All the predictions of sweeps, asskickings, etc. It was unreal. Then the wonderful self loathing when the Astros curb stomped the Sox.

I guess they did get to celebrate that one 3 run HR in the third game of the series before the Astros polished them off 10 to fucking 1 in the fourth game.

So, you chose to not to respond to the post I actually made. I guess that ends the discussion.

It’s not “believing” that Williams is a bust, it’s just recognizing that he’s fucking terrible. I do not “believe” that water is wet, I simply interpret reality and make an obvious determination. If you watch him play and think there is any outcome other than failure in store you are the definition of delusional.

What are the positives? He’s elusive? That’s about the only one I can come up with. Other than that it’s all bad or mediocre and certainly nothing else has stood out at all. His arm is dogshit, he takes forever to make a decision, he plays short, he’s not that good of a runner (I guess average? Look at Daniels if you want to see a good runner) and I think he’s alienated DJ Moore and lord knows how many other vets.

I mean, when "new ownership" and "new stadium" are on the list of things that need to happen it's not 3 years.
