Remember Zenith? Where u could buy TVs and camcorders and shit? And u could actually go and get the repaired? Or even repeair them urself? Did u ever goto a Zenith store and buy anythin'? Did u ever have a family member, dad, uncle, etc. work there? Occassionally you might still see abandoned buildings in certain spots with the old Zenith sign hanging there. ANybody know where one is? I forget where I've seen em. |

Not many remember but this is reminiscent of a young Nas' posting style. |

The first TV I can remember was a floor-standing Zenith in a massive wood cabinet. That was back when TV's were more or less luxury items as opposed to one of the most disposable forms of technology. |

a kid i went to school with had a dad who ran a local electronic repair place. the guy spent his days re-soldering boards on tvs and fixing vcr's. I remember we would go into his shop and we'd get a pop from his little mini fridge. there would be tv carcasses all over. he was always super buys. I remember going in as an adult and having him order some screens for my mitsubishi black diamond 42" projection (don't ask). he said take the screens off this dead tv and cut them down. The store was a lot emptier. he was certain he'd be done within the next 5 years. and he was. |

I remember when Walgreens had “tube tester” kiosks to check your TV tubes. Not even sure how that worked. |

I remember it being aglow as you drove by at night. they even bulldozed the building. its one of these lots where they level out all the gravel and dirt and building parts and then grass and weeds haphazardly grow. He may be retired now but last I knew he started building high end HD antennas for another electronic store that eventually also went out of business. rural people pay good money for rooftop antennas that will pick up Fox from Ottumwa, IA and CBS in Peoria, IL apparently. |
