I'm wondering how I would have reacted if my wife had said she was hyphenating our last names. I think the saying that you don't know how you would react until you are in that situation, is probably true here. |

I would imagine that constantly writing a hyphenated name would become tiresome eventually. |

I wouldn't care in the least, but she's keeping her name anyway. |

I would feel sorry for anyone who tried to telemarket our house. The resulting unusual Greek name followed by an unusual Polish name would require 19 spaces on the scantron form |

I would bury her in dirt up to her neck on the side of the road leading to our village. I would then invite villagers to stone her for the public humiliation she has brought upon my elders and our name. |

Wow... not a lot of people have work to do today. If you must know, the name is hyphenated because of my work. If I were to introduce myself as Julie Trudo no one in this industry would know who that was. You meat balls don't have these types of issues, your name stays the same no matter who you marry or who you divorce. Now get back to work! |

Wait, I'm confused: HHJ is married to this Julie Fennelly chick? I thought HHJ was gay. I'd hate to be Mitch Cumstein right now. Actually I'd love to be him, but that's neither here nor there. |

If my fiancee told me she was hyphenating her last name, and then indeed did do it, I'd hope my balls would grow back after the divorce. |

Wasn't there a guy on a tv show who actually took his wife's last name? |

If this would have been an option over her taking the ring off when she went to Alumni Club, I probably would have taken it. |

Actually sad sad case I just witnessed. Guy changed his own last name to be the hyphenated version of their names. So he now has a hyphenated last name as well. Same as hers. Pussy. |

I worked with a girl who, when she got married, her and her husband merged their last names to create a new one. |

Maybe we have the same friends... one's name was Belaspec and the other was Davis, now they are both Belaspec-Davis.... |

My last name will stay my last name. My kids will have my last name. (if and when it happens) Whatever last name she wants to go by is fine by me. |

She won't get the name because she won't be able to meet the criteria... she'll be known as Mrs. Doug from Mundelien.... |

So I am just hearing about this, had no idea hyphenated married names carried this kind of scorn esp when they are TEMPORARY. NSJ, you are basically calling me a pussy with the theme of your poll. That is fine. Remembering the news when you were "shaking" about an old couple driving through a panera, or whatever the fuck it was so you could advertise yourself on the news sounding like a homo Phillip Seymour Hoffman in a faggity purple polo with head lice visible on HD. God bless you man. And I am pretty sure you are at least half the mentally issued trolls scrolling our board right now. Good night sir. You want to rumble about this anytime anywhere good sir.[/quote] |
